College basketball phenomenon RORI HARMON is making a splash in her sport while balancing her life as a goal-driven student athlete. Rori Harmon is a college women’s basketball player for the Texas Longhorns in the Big 12 conference. Prior to college, she played high school basketball for Cypress Creek in Houston, TX, where she tallied 2,572 points, 745 assists, 700 steals in 146 games. In 2021 she was named a McDonald’s All American and the Texas Gatorade Player of the Year. She was also recognized by The Houston Chronicle as the All-Greater Houston Co-Player of the Year.
In her first year at Texas, Rori lead the Longhorns to a 29-7 season, and was recognized as a 2022 All-America Honorable Mention by both the AP and WBCA. She was named the 2022 Big 12 Tournament Most Outstanding Player, Freshman of the Year and was named to the Big 12 All-Defensive Team. Making a splash in the NCAA March Madness Tournament, Rori captured a spot on the Spokane Region All-Tournament Team where she led the Longhorns to the Elite 8. She’s been celebrated by the conference as the Freshman Player of the week (4X), and in February 2022, the ESPN W National Player of the week. Rounding out her accomplishments, she was named the Tamika Catchings National Freshman of the Week award from the National Collegiate Basketball Writers Association.
Rori has captured the hearts and minds of the sport; she is a proven leader on the court and a humble force in the community. Rori is most passionate about her family, touting her mother and father as her heroes. Simply put, Rori is infectious.
