Jubilee Media Founder & CEO Jason Y. Lee is changing media culture by building “the Disney of empathy”
Jubilee Media Founder and CEO JASON Y. LEE set out to do something different. After graduating from The Wharton School at UPenn, and working as a high-powered consultant at Bain & Company, he stepped away from a life so many other people deemed ‘successful’ to follow his passion and his purpose. While Jubilee started with simple videos edited in iMovie which opened with the greeting, “hey, good humans!” it has grown into a digital media startup boasting over 8M followers and 2B views, starting a movement that provokes understanding and human connection.
From the ground up, Jason has built Jubilee as a diverse company – he knew from personal experience what it felt like to be in the minority at work and wanted his organization to be a place where people can thrive. His goal? To become “the Disney of empathy” in a media space saturated with ever more divisive content. As a Founder, Jason prioritizes transparency and authenticity – values not often touted in startup culture. He shares his views on leadership, creating a culture of empathy, and more in sought-after talks.
Jubilee Media creates experiences to promote understanding and create human connection. Known for viral series Middle Ground, Spectrum, and Odd One Out, Jubilee has developed an audience of 7M+ subscribers and garnered 3B+ views. As the world becomes more divided, Jubilee bridges people together to create empathy, discourse, and love.
Prior to founding Jubilee, Jason was a consultant at Bain & Company. He also previously worked on the 2007 Obama Campaign and for the Clinton Health Access Initiative in Zambia. Jason is a proud Korean-American raised in Overland Park, Kansas and graduated with honors from the University of Pennsylvania, The Wharton School.
