As a spokesperson for the American Cancer Society’s “Real Men Wear Pink” campaign and an ambassador for various other charities, Davies utilizes his experiences of overcoming obstacles to inspire and motivate audiences. Davies relies on his resilience and positive mindset to overcome the adversities of his life, including career-threatening injuries, caring for his parents, and surviving a rare form of cancer – liposarcoma. He serves as a member on the Philanthropic Board of Advisors at Boston Children’s Hospital, and has spoken for groups like Boston Scores, New England Club to Club Summit and the Philadelphia Sports Medicine Conference.

Charlie Davies is a retired professional soccer player with an international career spanning twelve years having played in Sweden, France, and Denmark as well as stateside in Major League Soccer. Charlie was a member of the US Men’s National Team and represented the USA at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, Gold Cup, World Cup Qualifying, Copa America and the Confederations Cup.
During the peak of his career, while on duty with the National Team during World Cup qualifying, he was involved in a serious car accident that derailed his career. After a year and a half of rehab he returned to the field scoring 2 years in his professional comeback. Then 5 years later, Davies was diagnosed with Liposarcoma, a rare cancer. Following extensive surgery, Davies once again returned to the field to play the sport he loves. Following his playing career, Charlie currently is a TV Soccer Analyst for CBS Sports and MLSSoccer.com, and Broadcast Analyst for the New England Revolution.
Charlie serves as Director of the ‘Quin Impact Fund, the ‘Quin House’s philanthropic arm, where he works with numerous non-profits around the Greater Boston area developing relationships, creating access and opportunities, and helping to fund their missions. Charlie serves as a member on the Philanthropic Board of Advisors at Boston Children’s Hospital, a member of the Institute of Contemporary Art’s Advisory Board, a Board Member at Beacon Academy, a US Soccer Foundation ambassador, and a Nike brand ambassador.
Charlie attended Brooks School, where he was an All-American soccer player and wrestler and was ACC player of the year while at Boston College.
He lives in Hingham, MA with his wife and twin sons.
