Peabody Award-winning comics creator and Amazon and New York Times bestselling author Brian Michael Bendis is one of the most successful writers working in mainstream comics. Brian’s Words for Pictures – an intricate look at the creation of comic books and graphic novels – shot to #1 on Amazon. He is the creator of the Jinx line of crime comics, which has spawned graphic novels Goldfish, Fire, Jinx, Torso with Marc Andreyko, and Total Sell Out. His creator-owned imprint Jinxworld includes the return of the United States of Murder, Inc. with his Powers co-creator Mike Avon Oeming. Brian executive produced and wrote for Sony’s live-action series based on Powers. Brian also served as Executive Producer and consultant for the Oscar-winning Spiderman: into the Spiderverse. He co-created the character Miles Morales alongside Sara Pichelli and won a Peabody Award for his work as the co-creator of Jessica Jones on Netflix from Marvel TV. Brian Michael Bendis is a Peabody award winning comics creator, Amazon and New York Times bestseller and one of the most successful writers working in mainstream comics.

The announcement of Brian’s multi faceted move to DC ENTERTAINMENT after a near twenty year run at Marvel made international headlines and trended worldwide. Brian made his DC debut in the landmark Action Comics 1000 and currently writes SUPERMAN, ACTION COMICS, BATMAN:UNIVERSE, LEGION OF SUPERHEROES and curates WONDER COMICS featuring the return of YOUNG JUSTICE, DIAL H FOR HERO, WONDER TWINS, and the breakout original new character... NAOMI. The JINXWORLD line of creator owned comics, also published by DC include the Yakuza epic PEARL, with Jessica Jones co-creator Michael Gaydos, the comic book industry spy thriller COVER, with award-winning multimedia sensation David Mack, SCARLET, with co-creator Alex Maleev, and the alternate history mob story UNITED STATES OF MURDER INC with POWERS co-creator Mike Avon Oeming.

Brian was Executive Producer and consultant of the Academy award winning hit Sony feature Spider-man: into the Spiderverse (and its coming sequel in 2022). Miles Morales was co-created by Brian and Sara Pichelli. Brian won a Peabody Award for his work as the co-creator of JESSICA JONES on Netflix from Marvel TV. Brian’s release from Random House entitled WORDS FOR PICTURES is an intricate look at the creation of comic books and graphic novels based on the college level Graphic Novel class he teaches at Portland State University. Brian is one of the premiere architects of Marvel’s Ultimate line of comics. Previously, Brian was part of the Marvel creative committee which consulted for all of the Marvel movies from the first IRON MAN all the way through to GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOLUME 2. Brian is the creator of the JINX line of crime comics. This line has spawned the graphic novels GOLDFISH, FIRE, JINX, TORSO (w/ Marc Andreyko) and TOTAL SELL OUT. 2.

Brian received an HONORARY DOCTORATE IN THE ARTS from the Cleveland Institute of Art and a CERTIFICATE OF EXCELLENCE from the Central Intelligence Agency for his work on diversity issues. Brian is the recipient of the Cleveland Press ‘Excellence in Journalism’ Award.
