After asking the question, “What would I do if money didn’t matter?” Joshua Medcalf dropped out of his Masters program at Duke University, skipped scholarships to law school, and moved across the country into a homeless shelter to serve people.
From there, he moved into the closet of a gym to start his organization that focused on training and equipping young kids in the heart of the South Central housing projects where the movie, Training Day, was filmed.
Joshua went on to found Train to be CLUTCH, whose focus is a heart's first approach to leadership, life skills and mental training. He has written three highly acclaimed books: Burn Your Goals: The Counter Cultural Approach to Achieving Your Greatest Potential, Train to be CLUTCH 101; and An Impractical Guide to Transformational Leadership.
Joshua created the first mental training apps in the world for basketball, soccer and golf. He serves as the director of mental training for UCLA women’s basketball. His list of clients includes people from the NFL, NBA, PGA, LPGA, MLS, MLB, and Fortune 500 companies. He is the second person ever to be invited to work with the greatest dynasty in college sports on mental training, the 22 time National Champion University of North Carolina Women’s Soccer program. He is also the only person in thirty years to be invited by hall of fame coach, Karen Bahnsen, to work with LSU women’s golf on mental training and leadership.
Joshua has the unique position of mentoring highly talented millennials as well as baby boomers with decades of invaluable experience, and he is able to share case studies and the latest scientific research on maximizing human performance in a multi-generational workplace through engaging and unbelievable stories.
From his life changing experience of sleeping on skid row, all the way to sharing a stage with Condoleeza Rice, Joshua Medcalf’s stories and tools will leave you inspired and with a fresh perspective on tackling life’s greatest challenges and fulfilling your personal greatness in business, sports, and life.
