Jim Messina & Mike Murphy

Political masterminds Jim Messina and Mike Murphy come together from opposite sides of the aisle to give a behind-the-scenes look at what it’s like to advise political campaigns and how it’s similar to business consulting as they discuss today’s top stories in politics. Messina and Murphy leave audiences with new revelations about the future of politics, technology, and the media.

One of the world's most successful political advisors and renowned Democratic strategist Jim Messina is the mastermind behind former-President Obama and then-Vice President Biden’s 2012 re-election campaign. Seizing the reins on what Bloomberg Businessweek dubbed “the highest-wattage crash course in executive management ever undertaken,” Messina, with the guidance of technology’s foremost leaders, abandoned every step of a traditional presidential campaign and merged technology and politics in a way that was both unpredictable and unprecedented.

Mike Murphy is one of the Republican Party’s most successful political media consultants, having handled strategy and advertising for more than 26 successful gubernatorial and Senatorial campaigns, including 12 wins in “blue” states that have consistently voted Democratic in Presidential elections. He served as a top campaign advisor to John McCain, Mitt Romney, Jeb Bush and Arnold Schwarzenegger, along with dozens of other GOP Senators, Governors and Members of Congress. He also advises several Fortune 500 corporations, as well as several Hedge Funds and Trade Associations.
