Chris Appleton is known for his work as a world-renowned conceptual hair stylist, TV personality, and brand ambassador. Appleton has more recently made a name for himself in the entertainment industry, outside of his celebrity clients. He is a regular contributor on The Today Show, lifestyle contributor for The Drew Barrymore Show, and a correspondent for E! Red Carpet events including the Met Gala. He was recently invited by Anna Wintour to be a contributor for VOGUE across VOGUE social platforms and their digital app. Dubbed a “Hair Star” by Vogue UK, Appleton's work has been showcased on covers and major features for the top-tier magazines across the globe, including VOGUE, Harper’s Bazaar, and Vanity Fair. His talent has been enlisted by some of the largest and most iconic fashion houses for their seasonal shows, including Chanel, Vivienne Westwood, Fendi, Moschino, Dolce & Gabbana, Valentino, Saint Laurent, Tom Ford and Burberry. Chris grew up in a small Northern England town, far removed from Hollywood. He started doing hair at the age of 9, practicing on his mother and at age 13, got his first job at a local salon. Having dyslexia and struggling in school, doing hair was the first time he felt good at something. In 2016 he moved to London and picked up his first celebrity client, then-rising Rita Ora. He eventually caught the eye of Jennifer Lopez who hired him to work on her Vegas residency. He eventually got the call to LA when Christina Aguilera reached out to style her for The Voice. His work and craftsmanship caught on in Hollywood and the rest is history.
