On April 21, 2003, the University of Kansas announced the hire of Bill Self to lead the Jayhawks basketball program. During his eminent tenure, Self has led Kansas to 556 victories, eighteen straight NCAA Tournaments, eleven Sweet 16 appearances, nine Elite Eight berths, four Final Four runs, and two National Championships in 2008 and 2022. Self has also won an array of individual accolades, including two AP National Coach of the Year awards (2009, 2016), the 2012 Naismith and Adolf Rupp National Coach of the Year award, eight conference Coach of the Year awards, and was enshrined as a first-ballot honoree in the Class of 2017 Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. Coach Self’s unprecedented program at Kansas is a testament to his leadership, passion, and undeniable determination to succeed.
