Victor Vescovo

  • Five-Time Guinness World Record Holder for Diving and Climbing Achievements
  • Managing Partner and Co-Founder, Insight Equity

Victor Vescovo was born in Dallas, Texas and has received degrees from Stanford University, M.I.T. and an MBA from the Harvard Business School, where he graduated as a Baker Scholar. He currently serves as Chairman of the Board of three different companies across the defense, electronics, and industrial sectors. He is also a Managing Partner and Co-Founder of Insight Equity, a private equity firm with over $1B in equity capital deployed across multiple funds.

Victor served 20 years in the U.S. Navy Reserve as an intelligence officer, retiring in 2013 as a Commander (O-5). His principal duties involved operational targeting in the Iraqi, Kosovo, and Afghanistan theaters and after 9/11 he was deployed to support counter-terrorism efforts overseas.

In 2017, Victor became the 12th American to complete the “Explorer’s Grand Slam” which requires climbing the highest peak on all seven of the world’s continents including Mt. Everest and skiing at least 100 kilometers to both the North and South Poles. In 2019, he made history’s deepest solo submarine dive in the Pacific’s Mariana Trench at Challenger Deep. He was the first person to dive there more than once (now ten times), and became the first person to visit “The Five Deeps” – the deepest points in all five of the world’s oceans.

Victor was also the first person to dive the second- and third-deepest points on the ocean’s floor, the Sirena and Horizon Deeps, and also made the first solo dive to the RMS Titanic. His diving missions have been filmed for both the Discovery Channel as well as National Geographic and the book Expedition Deep Ocean was released in November 2020 chronicling the Five Deeps and other missions. He has been awarded five Guinness World Records for various diving and climbing achievements and is believed to be the only person in the world qualified as a multi-engine jet, helicopter, as well as submersible test pilot.
