One of the most successful athletic coaches in the country, Monica Aldama became an overnight sensation after starring in the hit Netflix docuseries CHEER, which chronicles her tremendous leadership in building the country's most successful cheerleading squad and program from the ground up. Monica is heralded as a pioneer in the world of cheer, one who combines her sharp, high-achieving mindset, business acumen, and tremendous empathy and dedication to her students, to set the bar ever-higher. She has been with Navarro College for 24 years and has led the cheer squad to win 14 National Championships, more than any other squad in the country.

Biography

Monica Aldama is one of the most successful athletic coaches in the country, having brought in 14 Junior College Division National Championships and five Grand National Titles for the cheerleading team at Navarro College in Corsicana, Texas. An overnight sensation thanks to the hugely popular Netflix docuseries CHEER, which documents the rigorous training it takes to achieve cheerleading success and to build a team and a program from the ground up, Monica is her students’ biggest advocate. 

Aldama is a graduate of Corsicana High School and the University of Texas at Austin. She has a B.B.A in Finance from the McCombs School of Business and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Texas at Tyler.
