Lynn Davis, known by her online name CookingWithLynja, is everyone’s most beloved cooking grandma on TikTok. What started as a simple quarantine pastime to help her youngest son Tim sharpen his videography skills has transformed into an explosion of popularity over the past 2 years. With a reach of over 17M across her social platforms, she resonates with the Gen Z audience by adding meme-able humor alongside her mesmerizing cooking content. These are largely in part by Tim’s elite editing skills, which won her the Streamy Award for Best Editing in 2021. Her videos have amassed over 3 billion views across all of her platforms, with content ranging from a simple watermelon drink to her iconic series “Bussin’ or Nah”, where she rates other creators’ dishes like this avocado hashbrown.
In May of 2022, she partnered with fellow food creator and former MasterChef contestant Nick Digiovanni to create the world’s largest chicken nugget, being certified by the Guinness World Records and solidifying them with the title. Before that, the duo broke another culinary record in November of 2021 by making the world’s largest cake pop, weighing in at a staggering 97 pounds. They’ve continued their record breaking journey and have most recently traveled to 69 restaurants in 24 hours, crushing the previous record of 50 restaurants in one day.
Lynn Davis graduated from MIT in ’77 with a degree in civil engineering and ended up working for AT&T for 29 years doing systems engineering for a medical record system, all the while earning her MBA and MPH at Columbia University.
