Award-Winning Author of The Color of Love l President of Egad! Productions

A person with many marginalized identities as a Black/white biracial and Jewish woman adopted at birth, MARRA B. GAD is keenly aware that she doesn't fit into what are considered to be the traditional boxes we typically expect of people, overtly or subliminally. And she acknowledges that it can be challenging to talk about it. Instead, she encourages us all to take a step back from these boxes and look at each other as human beings with unique, nuanced experiences in life, but also with so much in common. Award-Winning Stand-Up Comedian and Writer

ALEX EDELMAN is a comedian and writer whose Orthodox Jewish upbringing has informed critically and commercially acclaimed work for the stage and screen. Edelman is known both for his solo shows - three, all award-winning, sell-out hits in London’s West End and the Edinburgh Fringe Festival - and for his TV writing.

His most recent solo show, Just For Us – which centers on a meeting of neo-Nazis that Edelman attended in New York – has cemented his reputation as a writer-performer of impressive ambition and technical skill. Edelman’s first show, Millennial – about very traumatic stock photos and young people – won the Edinburgh Comedy Award for Best Newcomer, the first show by an American to do so since 1997. The follow-up, Everything Handed To You – about identity and the availability of outlets in airports – was even more acclaimed: selling out its entire Edinburgh run and garnering the second best reviews of any comedy show at the Festival. All three offerings center strongly on his Jewish identity, his Gen Y cohort, and are performed regularly both nationally and internationally.
