Biography

Jeff Boss is a former Navy SEAL of 13 years who completed eight deployments to Iraq, Afghanistan, and other places. He has been honored with 4 Bronze Stars with Valor, 2 Purple Hearts, 2 Presidential Unit citations, multiple Joint Commendation Medals with Valor, and six combat action ribbons for leadership and tactical acumen, among others.

Jeff entered Navy SEAL training in September of 2000 and graduated in October 2001 after suffering a femoral stress fracture that sent him back to day one of BUD/S (Basic Underwater Demolition/SEAL training).

After deploying twice at SEAL Team 4, Jeff rose to the ranks of the premier counterterrorism force of the United States—Naval Special Warfare Development Group—where he faced complex situations amidst dire uncertainty that few others can even fathom. The personal and organizational leadership lessons he learned are insights that only someone with his experience can share. He has been shot on two out of eight deployments, survived four parachute malfunctions, and lost more friends than some people will ever know. To that end, he brings a positive, humorous approach to his speaking style that is both enlightening and entertaining.

A sought-after writer on leadership, culture change, and high-performance teams, Jeff writes weekly for Forbes and Entrepreneur.

Jeff holds a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish from Ohio State, as well as a Master of Science in Organizational Leadership from Norwich University. Jeff currently works for the McChrystal Group, whose mission is to optimize business performance and adaptability through implementation of CrossLead, a combat proven leadership framework.
