Human Security in the 21st Century
Human security depends on leaders and people working together to facilitate lasting change in underprivileged communities by creating economic opportunities, building the capacity for self-reliance, supporting efforts towards nuclear non-proliferation, and improving cross-cultural understanding. Her Majesty Queen Noor is an international public servant and an outspoken voice on these issues, and her unique insight on Arab-Western relations offers audiences a practical look at the challenges our leaders and societies face in the 21st Century.

Prominent Humanitarian Activist
Since her marriage to His Majesty King Hussein in 1978, Queen Noor has initiated, directed, and sponsored projects and activities in Jordan. She specifically addressed national development needs in the areas of education, culture, women and children’s welfare, human rights, conflict resolution, environmental and architectural conservation, and urban planning. The numerous projects she initiated in Jordan have been recognized and supported by the United Nations and other international organizations as models for the Middle East and the developing world.
Preserving the Legacy of King Hussein
Today, Her Majesty devotes much of her time to the King Hussein Foundation. The foundation is a non-profit, non-governmental organization that serves as an enduring commitment to King Hussein’s life-long dedication to human security and peace through international programs promoting education, leadership, sustainable development and cross-cultural dialogue and understanding.
Global Zero
Queen Noor is a founding member of Global Zero, an international initiative working towards the elimination of all nuclear weapons worldwide. The organization is working on three fronts to achieve this goal: 1) developing a step-by-step plan for the elimination of nuclear weapons based on the Paris conference framework; 2) conducting track-two diplomacy to build support among key governments; and 3) generating broad-based worldwide public support through media and online communications and grassroots organizing. Queen Noor is front and center on this issue and is often called upon to speak about the importance and impact of creating a nuclear free world.
Leap of Faith: Memoirs of an Unexpected Life
In this poignant love story, Queen Noor paints a portrait of a deeply committed marriage amid the turbulent politics of the Middle East during the last three decades. Taking the reader inside Middle Eastern culture, Queen Noor writes about her conversion to Islam and her dedication to bringing a true picture of the Arab world to the West.
