Annabelle Gurwitch is a columnist for The Nation Magazine and an NPR contributor where her targets range from everything from politics to pop culture. Her essays appear in two anthologies: Note to Self (Simon Spotlight, 1/09) and Rejected (Villard, 1/09) and blogs for the Huffington Post.
Gurwitch’s newest role is host of the reality show Wasted, launched by the network Planet Green. The show works with a different household every week as they try to make their homes “green” with the added incentive of earning money based on the success of the household’s transition.
You Say Tomato, I Say Shut Up, Annabelle’s new book, a comedic memoir written with her husband, Jeff Kahn, will be published by Random House on Valentine’s Day, 2010. Annabelle’s book: Fired!, was deemed a “merry compendium of failure” by The Washington Post and was #1 on The New York Post Hot List. Time Magazine cited Annabelle in their cover story “10 Ideas that are Changing the World” for her Fired! documentary film.
Her non-scripted TV work includes her six year stint on the cult favorite Dinner and a Movie for T.B.S. and hosting shows on The Style Channel, Sci-Fi, VH1, ABC, The Game Show Network and HBO.
