5 Influential Global Leaders

Ehud Barak

Few individuals have done more than Ehud Barak to earn the honor of being considered a true global statesman. The former Israeli Prime Minister and most recent Minister of Defense has had a political career that has lasted over half a century—positioning him perfectly to asses the global political climate.

Most recently, Prime Minister Barak has been discussing an issue of utmost importance: modern cyber security, offering his insight into what can and should be done to avoid crises in a time of cyber warfare.

Prime Minister Barak enthralled the audience at the 2013 World Cyber Security Conference in Nigeria. "The 2013 World Cyber Security Conference was the best so far; and with the largest number of participants—over 1000 leaders. Thanks to the name and personality of Prime Minister Barak—our keynote speaker's name was the magnet that pulled the VVIPs (Very, Very Important Personalities) participants to the event. ''I will drop everything I am doing on the 17th September in order to listen to Ehud,' said one cabinet member of the Federal Government told me two weeks before the event ... Prime Minister Ehud Barak is a good storyteller. He fulfilled our expectations—indeed he exceeded our expectations with regards to the amount of useful information he shared willingly at the event. We wanted Nigerian leaders to learn from him how Israel is able to manage the growth of its economy in the midst of critical challenges of terrorism. And he did justice to the topic. Mr. Barak is exciting and highly knowledgeable in the matters of the military, economy and leadership."

Mr. Barak recently engaged 4,000 attendees at the Global HR Forum in Seoul, and closed off 2013 with engagements in Prague, Lagos and Miami.

The president's recent engagements have included the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals, Boston College, the Economic Club of Southwestern Michigan, Camara Colombiana de Infraestructura and a leading financial services firm, who said attendees were "delighted" with the president's presentation.

Audiences around the world are thrilled with President Calderón's speeches. The Stars Scholarship Fund raved that "his presentation went well ... He told a few jokes and seemed very passionate about his topic."
