Senior Sales Agent
HWA is currently looking to grow our team of seasoned sales professionals. Specifically, we are seeking candidates with at least 3-5 years sales experience or someone with 3-5 years of experience in the meeting planning industry working with Speakers Bureaus.
To be successful, this person will need to be self-motivated and flexible, and must have the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. They must be dedicated to excellent customer service and relationship building. The candidate should be willing to take the initiative and be prepared to work under pressure and thrive on competition. This position is for someone with excellent communication skills, some knowledge of politics, current business trends, as well as domestic and international current events.
A Senior Sales Agent is responsible for the financial success of our speakers and the Agency. It is no small task and requires a dedication and a desire to constantly learn. As the world’s leading lecture agency and speakers bureau, it’s a great honor to represent the world’s foremost speakers in politics, media, business and entertainment.
HWA works with all types of organizations to find the right speaker for any type of budget. The person in this position must be comfortable speaking to and working with meeting planners and executives from Fortune 500 companies to trade associations, colleges, non-profits and international organizations.
Desired Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree with at least 3-5 years business experience in sales and working with Speakers Bureaus
- Excellent spoken and written communication skills are essential, including the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community
- Professional phone demeanor and someone comfortable making cold calls, prospecting leads and closing deals
- Ability to negotiate, find creative solutions to close deals
- Ability to create, compose, and edit written materials
- Attention to detail while multi-tasking
- Creative thinking and a positive, can-do attitude
- Past experience working with a CRM database system is a plus
- Working on Commission
Responsibilities:
- High volume of selling via phone, with follow up via written communication/email
- Partner with Meeting Planners to provide proactive, intelligent solutions to their programming needs
- Represent speakers (well-known people from the world of politics, business, journalism) to Corporations, Associations, Non-Profits and Educational Groups around the world in a dignified and professional manner
- Develop and implement targeted marketing plans
- Manage a shared assistant
